Custom development questions
How much does a custom PHP application cost?
It depends on the number of things it has to do and the number of systems it has to talk to, and anyone quoting before they know both is guessing. Discovery is short and gives you a fixed number before you commit to the build.
How long before we see something working?
The end of the first sprint, so around two weeks. It will be narrow, but it will be real and on a staging site you can log into.
Do we own the code?
Yes. Repositories, documentation and deployment scripts are yours throughout, not handed over at the end as a courtesy.
Can you work with our in-house developers?
Yes. Sharing a codebase with a client team is normal for us — it usually means agreeing standards, review and branching up front rather than discovering them in a merge conflict.
What if we need to change direction mid-project?
That is what two-week sprints are for. Scope changes are re-priced against the written assumptions, and you can stop at the end of any sprint with working software rather than a half-finished build.
Will you maintain it afterwards?
If you want us to. Support and hosting plans are separate and optional, and the handover is complete either way.
